Hello and welcome to The Culture Project. We are here with the next iteration of the Weekly Roundup. Happy Father’s Day to all you Dads out there. Hope everyone had a good weekend shared with family if you were able to see any. I had a nice weekend filled with good food and some games. I played dominos for the first time in a really long time. My dad has been teaching my daughter how to play. It was fun times.
There is some cool new art to check out this week like always. Fx(hash) is releasing another major update to their site. They will be releasing curated projects with artists starting this week. It’s in the hopes to push the generative space with more innovative type projects. I think it’s a great step forward for the platform. The new project coming out is quite impressive and I’m looking forward to it’s release.
Lets dive in.
A Turbulent and Tempestuous Passion by Monty Bartlett
Presented on fx(hash)
Mints on Monday - 128 pieces in the set.
Price: 3 Tezos
There isn’t a big amount of variance in this project, but that’s okay. There is a specific look to the project that may not change a lot with a small run. With the different lighting changes, spacing, and color palettes it has a nice balance to it. I only came across a few dark red palettes that were my favorites from the group.
"The Mind very often sets it self on work in search of some hidden Idea, and turns, as it were, the Eye of the Soul upon it; though sometimes too they start up in our Minds of their own accord, and offer themselves to the Understanding; and very often are routed and tumbled out of their dark Cells, into open Day-light, by some turbulent and tempestuous Passion"
- John Locke, An Essay Concerning Human Understanding
An evocation of memory.
Presented on fx(hash)
Mints on Wednesday - 256 pieces in the set.
Price: 0.001 ETH (Base)
I’m a big fan of Nubplus’s work. I’ve been following their releases for a while now. They have a signature structure that is in most of their work and I love how they continue to incorporate it into their new releases. With the mixes of colors, dithering, and the glitchy animation these outputs came out really nice. Check out the site to see some of them live.
"Art stands in a fragile balance; it reflects both its fragility and its strength."
Lucy Lippard
In art, the concept of "fragile" emphasizes the delicate, sensitive, and brittle nature of works. This fragility can manifest in both the physical structure of the art and its emotional and conceptual depth. Additionally, the inclusion of mistakes and unexpected events in the artistic process lends a spontaneous and authentic quality to the pieces. These unplanned and uncontrolled errors can sometimes become the most powerful and impactful elements of the work. They reflect the fragility of the pieces and the complexity of the human experience, drawing the viewer more deeply into the inner world of the artwork. Ultimately, the concept of "fragile" and the spontaneous images created by mistakes are crucial elements that enhance originality and emotional depth in art.
In this collection, I introduced a digital texture to my new compositions. I enveloped the resulting structures with an innovative layer and arranged the images spontaneously created by these textures in an interactive manner. I kept my color palette limited in this collection; I chose contrasting colors because textures become invisible in similar hues. During my resolution tests, I experienced significant texture loss at high levels, so I decided to work at an optimal resolution. This way, I aim to preserve both the visual richness and the artistic integrity of my works.

Mints on Thursday - 100 pieces on Tezos & 100 pieces on ETH Base Chain.
Price: 20 -> 15 -> 10 -> 5 Tezos

0.005 ETH + 0.0008 ETH Mint Fee
This project is split between to chains. It has 100 pieces on Tezos and 100 on ETH Base chain. The links above will take you to the fx(hash) site and the Highlight site to see both releases. I love the use of geometric shapes and colors in this project. There are several different methods the circles are deployed in. Some create negative space, some are groups of lines that may not complete, and others will have gradient color shifts applied to them. And it all works so well together. Then you add the other shapes and the color palettes that can be so vibrant at times. I really enjoyed this one. It has a lot of great outputs.
Perception Prism is all about exploring how we see and interpret shapes and colors. I used basic shapes like triangles and circles and arranged them on a grid. The gradient colors flow smoothly across the piece, adding depth and contrast to it.
Think of it like looking through a prism, where light splits into various colors. Each shape and color works together to create a complex and interesting pattern.
This artwork plays with the idea of perception, showing how simple elements can come together to form something much more intricate. The gradients give it depth, enhancing the contrast between the shapes and colors. It is about finding beauty in simplicity and complexity.

Vertex is a new platform coming to fx(hash). It’s for curated projects where the artist works with fx(hash) for a specific project release. They will work together to create something new and innovative in the gen art space. I think this is something the site has really been missing. If the first release is any kind of indicator for what is to come. I’m really excited for the future of Vertex. Read this article that talks about Vertex and the new genesis release Entangled. It has interactive windows of the new project so you can see how it works in real time. Refresh the screen to get new iterations. Click Here to Check it Out.
Introducing VERTEX, a new fxhash program designed to foster select collaborations between code-based artists and our platform. VERTEX aims to push generative art experiences beyond conventional limits, driven by technical excellence and peak innovation.
As an open platform for generative art, fxhash has always been a point in time and space toward which ideas gravitate. VERTEX allows us to work closely with artists on their ideas, providing them with the full suite of resources (technology, domain expertise, artistic feedback) at our disposal to fully realize their concepts without compromise.
Let’s say the quiet part out loud: the generative art market has taken a gradual turn toward numbing uniformity. Value extractive practices and a general lack of innovative thinking have drained both collector funds and artist interest. However, it’s far too early for this to happen — onchain generative art is a new phenomenon with fresh energy waiting to be activated.
VERTEX strives to revive the love for code-based art that’s at the center of our community by taking a more holistic view of building generative art experiences.
I love this message from the fx(hash) team and what they are aiming for. Entangled will be the first release for this new series of curated works and is incredibly impressive. I remember the tweet that came out by Bjorn a while back showcasing this work in it’s early stages. To see it now coming to the site for this big release is amazing and well deserved.
This project will be on two chains Tezos & ETH. There will be 256 pieces per chain and each chain will have a matching pair. Two pieces that work together in tandem. You will be able to make two of them, one from each chain, interact with each other through two tabs on your browser. Check out the example below.
This gives you the choice of seeking out the second piece that works with yours. The chances of you minting a matching pair seems very slim. I’m sure a lot of people will want to collect their matching pair. I’ve never seen a project like this and it’s great to see something so fresh coming to fx(hash). I probably won’t be able to participate in minting. I’m really excited to explore this project and play with pairs that work together.
Entangled introduces an artistic perspective where science, web-based interactivity, and blockchain tech enter into a dialogue. The concept behind the collection originated with the launch of fxhash 2.0—a moment when the platform ushered in a multichain era. Entangled answers the question of how we, as platforms, creators, and collectors, facilitate access and artistic exchange in a multichain environment.
Quantum entanglement is a cosmic phenomenon where two or more particles are connected in such a way that the state of each particle can’t change independently of the others, however large the distance between them.
In other words, two entangled particles behave like twins—even if separated by galaxies—and can respond to each other’s actions. This mysterious, instant mirroring defies the limits of the speed of light and reveals the potential for communication via an unseen cosmic network.
Below are a few more videos that show the work in action. These are taken from fx(hash) & Bjorn’s twitter posts.
