Hello and welcome to The Culture Project. We are here with the next iteration of the fx(hash): Weekly Roundup. Ended up staying in town this weekend. Plans never go as you think they will. Maybe I will be gone next weekend, but at this point who really knows? Lets direct our attention to the art. There are a few nice projects to cover this week.
Lets dive in.
Mints on Monday - 128 pieces in the set.
Price: 2 -> 1 -> 0.5 -> 0.25 -> 0.125 Tezos
Changes every 30 mins.
These are described as a Kaleidoscope, but they really remind me of Mandalas. I really love the shapes & colors in all of these outputs and each one has 12 variations.
Click to rotate through 12 variations on each design.
Kaleidoscopia is an inadequate tribute to my love of kaleidoscopes and the childlike surprise of turning the lens to create an endless variety of patterns.
I realise that calling my own work 'inadequate' is probably not good marketing but it is with humility that I admit that hundreds of lines of code does not produce the 'endless variety' that coloured stones falling under the force of gravity does.
Irregularly regular by Nema Roshan
Mints on Monday - 32 pieces in the set.
Price: 0.9 Tezos
I covered one of Nema’s projects last week and here we are with another wonderful minimalistic release. It’s another small run with only 32 pieces. I love the watercolor like splashes you can find throughout.
Nature seldom adheres to uniform patterns and textures; its beauty often lies in the asymmetry and unpredictability of its designs. In crafting this artwork, my aim was to infuse a contemporary aesthetic by embracing chaos in every aspect, including the color scheme. Textures within the shapes are diverse, with some lines appearing solid, while others are dashed or dotted. The arrangement of shapes and lines is non-symmetrical and seems random, contributing to the abstract nature of the piece. The overall effect is one of harmony and dynamism, the varied painterly textures add depth to the composition.
Trajectories by The Electric Word
Mints on Tuesday - Open Edition -Params
Price: 0 Tezos
As of now this one is marked at 0 Tezos and is an Open Edition. I feel like this is minimalism done right. Simple lines that can represent paths we’ve chosen in life.
No one knows how life will turn out. Sometimes you cross another person's path. Sometimes you don't. Sometimes your paths diverge. Sometimes you double back on yourself, or meet a dead-end. Sometimes you stay in your lane. Sometimes you break free, whilst others are held back. Sometimes you are held back. Sometimes you find your self going against the flow, sometimes with it. Sometimes the path is complex, when there are so many possibilities. Sometimes the path is clear and simple.
Man Bites Brontosaurus on ETH & Tezos by Christophe Choffel
Mints on Monday - 2 Sets of 64 pieces on two Chains.
Price: 0.002 ETH (Base) & 6 Tezos
Not sure who started this trend, but it’s something I’ve seen a few times now. This project is being released on ETH & Tezos at the same time. Two releases of 64 for a total of 128 pieces across two chains. I love the look and feel of these. There is a sense of movement to them that gives it more depth.
and other astounding TRUE stories
A piece about sensationalism, which can be fun when satirical, absurd or surreal, but also has become a real problem in the news and the web, with rampant click baits, fake news and the constant need for clicks, orchestrated by unfeeling sorting algorithms and AIs.
