Hello and welcome to The Culture Project. We are here with the next iteration of the fx(hash): Weekly Roundup. If you haven’t heard yet, there has been huge news with the release of fx(hash) 2.0. It deploys on December 1st and there are a ton of amazing artists releasing in the first week. There is almost a silly amount of projects coming out at one time and some from big names. The best way to follow all of these is by checking out the new calendar system they have setup. A nice UX and preview to check out new projects. The site’s improvements are looking good.
Lets dive in.
First off is the tweet that explains the direction fx(hash) is headed in. A multichain future where you can release projects on Ethereum or Tezos. I think you will be able to purchase in ETH, XTC, and USD for any NFT. And like always it will be an open system where anyone can release work on their site.

All the features they provide for Tezos projects will also work with Ethereum.
As of now there are already 51 projects on the calendar for the first week. We have Mark Knol, Piter Pasma, Tyler Boswell, & Casey REAS just to name a few. And those are just some names from the first day of releases… How crazy is that?
I’m going to cover some projects from the calendar and post some WIPs & links. This will be more of an exploration post and will have more information on releases in the next couple weeks.
We have a new project from Mark titled SMOLSKULL × COLLAB and looks to be a collab with Jordi Gandul. Judging by the style of the art. There hasn’t been an official naming yet and not a whole lot of WIPS besides this gif below.
There is also the cryptic style message from Mark in this tweet. Does owning a SmolSkull mean anything for this new release? Can’t wait to find out more about the drop & collab.

I really enjoy riiiis’s style of art, very glitchy and grainy looking at times. The new project is called WYSiiiiWYG and has some really nice outputs. These give me vibes from two of their other projects on fxhash. Which I have no idea how to say there names.
I’ve seen Michael’s work before, but wasn’t following him yet. He has some wonderful releases on both Art Blocks and fx(hash). His next project Depot is a very nice minimalistic abstract work.
Piter has had some really impressive works in the past on fx(hash). This new one looks so different from what he has done. I’m loving the outputs, he’s just impressing me even more. These are very simple at times and very complex in others. The project is called Blokkendoos and is in partnership with Tender Art. He’s still working on a name for the project.
A combinatoric ode to soft lighting and diffuse surfaces, code generating codes of three dimensional forms and their negative space, blending the qualities of figure and ground.
I have never heard of ella or seen their work before. Blown away by their new project and love the look and feel of it. They have some great youtube videos as well, though they are 2 years old now. One of the great things about doing these writeups is finding new artists to follow. The new project is currently called TBD and is another partnership with Tender Art.
An exploration of light transport and pathtracing in 2D.
Casey should need no introduction, though I’ll give them one. One of the co-founders of Processing.org and is a pioneer in the gen art scene. Just go to reas.com and check out all the cool stuff they have done. Some really beautiful and interesting projects on their. This latest project is called There’s No Distance and is in partnership with bitforms.
There's No Distance is a new long-form generative art release in the Still Life series, created for fxhash and the It Doesn't Exist (In Any Other Form) exhibition at the bitforms gallery in New York on view 9 November 2023 – 12 January 2024. The Still Life series includes the original ten Still Life software artworks dating 2016–2023, An Empty Room at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in 2023, and 923 Empty Rooms released through Bright Moments and Art Blocks in 2023. This generative system is a further evolution of the code that created the HSB-119-006-090-1366-618 / HSB-135-006-090-1232-687 woodblock prints in 2015, the origin for all of this work.
Like I said earlier, there are a lot of projects coming out in the next couple weeks. I’m going to do an article covering more of these 2.0 releases next Sunday. See ya then.

I really like the Piter Pasma. Looking forward to that. I just wish there was more detail and pricing on the upcoming drops. Thanks for the write-up!
