Welcome and Happy New Year! We start this year with, A year of collecting part two. Covering all of the Art Blocks and fxhash pieces I have collected over the last couple of months for The Culture Project. I’m passionate about generative art and wanted to share that with the community. I also wanted to give something back of value after being burned by the original owner. I don’t know what the future holds, but we will be rich with knowledge and art.
Brush Strokes is the project that started everything. We have accumulated some in the wallet for giveaways and to welcome new writers or other contributors to the community. Feels right to start with it as the first piece for this post. If there are any writers or anyone that thinks they can contribute to our community please reach out to me.
I’m going to post a lot of art in chronological order of purchases. The majority of these are from Art Blocks and fxhash. Every single Art Blocks piece is from bids I placed under floor price on Open Sea. All of the fxhash pieces were bought at floor price.
One of the first things I did with the wallet in September was mint a decagon. A wonderful and amazing project that I have been upgrading on my main account since it started. You earn XP by doing simple tasks on the website and upgrade your art. It changes every time you upgrade it and you can watch it grow.
When they started their friendship Decagon project recently, it made perfect sense to have one with a community member. Hashedᵐᶠᵉʳ swooped in and asked me to start one with him before I could do an announcement. And our first friendship Deca was born. We both have our own separate Decagon that we upgrade together. They are tied to each other.

While I’m talking about friendship’s, I need to shoutout and thank a few people in the community for their contributions. First, Estadox who was there for me in a major way when I first took over. Then there are StateOfTheArt & Hashedmfer who have been incredibly supportive for so long. Bensbigolbeard has been a good friend in this space for over a year now. So many great people in this community. If I don’t say your name I still appreciate you for being here. There are to many to remember. Thanks to 0xAmica, pook1e, SittingDown, kd, Enyo, and many more.
Big thanks to Haiver for joining our little community and sharing his wonderful articles with us. If you’re not reading fxGems, you’re doing something wrong.
At the beginning of October is when I had the idea and I started collecting for our community. The first piece I got was from the Omega Point collection on fxhash. An incredibly cool project.

Planning on collecting a few more and giving away some in the future.
Departed #165 - Art Blocks - Given to dvlan
Departed was our first Art Blocks project we collected. I picked some artists I liked and other projects that seemed promising with lower floor prices. I put a ton of offers in for months. At first I didn’t get anything, but then there was a flood of accepts. It was a cool experience not knowing what you may have when you woke up each day. It’s been a lot of fun sharing these with so many people.

Friendship Bracelets #9795 - Art Blocks - Still in Our wallet
Our free Bracelet from owning Art Block pieces at a certain time. Funny that a free mint is one of our more prized possessions.
This was more of a random purchase, but I like what this community is about. They are in the middle of an owner transition, but seem to have a solid plan moving forward this year. Curious to see what gen art they release in the near future.

Landscape with Carbon Capture #3507 - Given to Esatdox
The Open Edition Landscape with Carbon Capture by Zancan on Verse was such an amazing event. One I’m happy the community was involved in. I minted a few and bought some on secondary as well.

We got lucky minting this one and got a rare trait, Glow Neon Green.

On New Years Eve I bought three Brush Strokes to add to our collection. There were a few low ranked ones on the floor. I plan on giving some away in the future.
This one is ranked #184.
And this beauty is ranked #35. I really couldn’t let this one sit on the floor. This wallet started with Brush Strokes and the it seemed right to end the year with them.
For all of the holders, I want you to know, I haven’t just been spending the money without any thought. It’s no secret that I believe in the future of long form generative art. Every time I have bought an Art Blocks piece for the community, I got two of them. One to giveaway and one to hold long term. So far this has proven to be a good thing. Seventy five percent of the pieces we have acquired are worth more than when we purchased them. We will see how this plays out, but I think it may sustain us for a longer portion of time, we will have to wait and see.
We also have the Brush Strokes V0 project to release. I’m still trying to figure out how this is going to work, but it most likely will be released on fxhash. I want all holders to be able to mint some for free, but fxhash minting process may not allow for some to be free and some to be pay to mint. I’m going to talk to some artists and flesh things out. I have a few people I can talk to and get a better grasp of what it will take.
We gave away three Brush Strokes, five Art Blocks, six fxhash, and three Zancan pieces in 2022. We shared seventeen different pieces of art in total. It took a little while to get into a groove, but I ended up writing eleven articles before the end of the year as well. I say this all the time, but I will keep saying it. Thank you to everyone in the community that is around and supporting in any way. Even if you’re just lurking, I appreciate it. I’m excited to see what is in store for us in the new year.
