Today I’m going to cover one of my favorite generative artists on FXhash, Hevey. They started publishing to FXhash over 9 months ago and have 11 projects minted out. They are constantly working on something new and post WIPs (Works in Progress) to their twitter consistently. They also have their own discord server and an amazing website that has all of their work from Foundation, Opensea, & FXhash all in one place. The website makes it much easier to traverse all of their work, though the majority of it is minted on FXhash.
Some current WIPs from an upcoming project from @HeveyArt
Hevey’s first project entrelacement is an interesting and great start to his generative art career on FXhash. Entrelacement is a literary technique in which several simultaneous stories are interlaced to make one larger narrative. It’s a wonderful metaphor for the coding behind the art. And obviously the art itself that has individual strands of color that intertwine to make it more complex.
Lines experiment is the second project that Hevey released and explores seamless line movement. These gifs of them in action really does not do them justice. Click on the links below the gifs to see them in all their glory. I really like the flow of these and how smooth they play. Some of them are ellipsoidal, giving depth to the piece. Some of them seem to run in a more linear fashion, but the varying sizes in the lines give them a feeling of depth.
Fireworks is in my top 3 favorites out of all of their work. The color palettes through out the whole series is so well done. From the mono colored pieces to the vibrant ones, I haven’t seen one I don’t like.
These last 3 have some of the rarest traits through out the whole series.
I’m going to skip a couple of his projects and jump ahead to one of my favorites, Sequence. A few weeks ago I went through a ton of collections on FXhash and decided to make a list of things I want to collect over time, my grail list. This one is at the top. They are just a sequence of colors, but the way they are put together through out all the mints is impressive and beautiful. I absolutely love the color variations, sizes, shapes, and at times the negative spaces of each piece.
These last 3 have some of the rarest traits through out the whole series.
The next two, Connexions & Rings, are more explorations of space, shapes, & colors. I feel like these two helped create one of my favorite projects Dencity. When I look a these two together I can’t help but think they may of helped inspire it.
I end this with Dencity, one of my favorite works in generative art. I’m lucky to have minted one when they went live on FXhash. The details in each piece are incredible and the work put into this project is quite amazing. You can zoom way in on these, where you can find new little details. When you zoom in on mine, you can see small trees in-between some of the buildings. There are ponds and vehicles in other pieces, adds cool new little elements to each.
from my collection - Dencity #170
From the project site:
”Behind the visible art (the image) hides another form of art, an extremely complex algorithm capable of calculating and drawing in 2D each variation of the Dencity project. To draw a variation, the algorithm notably takes around 3,000,000 to 20,000,000 random decisions based on the hash of the mint and draws around 800,000 to 4,000,000 lines to create all the strokes and texture effects.”
These last 3 have some of the rarest traits through out the whole series.
It’s been a lot of fun covering Hevey’s work and can’t wait to see what they bring in the future. Please go check out all of their work at their website and support this amazing artist. I can’t wait to add a few more pieces to my collection.
